“Fanny is a fantastic teacher. She explains things very clearly, has a great pace throughout the workshop, includes interesting and illustrative video examples, and facilitated lively conversation that is highly relevant to the topic. She gets the group very engaged.”

- Helena de Groot, Podcast Producer

At the heart of my work lies a commitment to capturing the stories that illuminate human resilience and innovation, particularly those that span borders and bridge communities throughout the Americas. I specialize in family oral history projects, collaborating with private clients to create lasting documentary legacies that honor their unique narratives and preserve them for generations to come.

My role as an educator has allowed me to share trauma-informed interviewing techniques and oral history methodology with more than 1,000 participants across the United States, Mexico, and Central America. These workshops emphasize ethical practice and community-centered approaches to storytelling.

I'm particularly passionate about the post-documentation phase of oral history work. Rather than allowing completed projects to remain static in archives, I've taught about various methods that activate stories into contemporary dialogue through strategic social media engagement and innovative dissemination practices that expand their reach and relevance.

From intimate family legacy projects to large-scale community documentation initiatives, I work closely with clients to ensure their oral history collections serve their intended audiences effectively. My experience encompasses diverse subject areas including cross-cultural narratives, community organizing, artistic movements, and stories of adaptation and survival that reflect the complexity of modern experiences and their connection to past and present historical moments.

Each project I undertake prioritizes the dignity of narrators while creating resources that will continue generating insight and connection long after the initial interviews conclude.
